Information for Patients

For new and returning patients please check the information below

General Information

  • Please wear loose and comfortable clothing with sleeves and pant legs that roll up at least to the elbows and knees.

  • Depending on the exact nature of your condition, we may see results immediately, or it could take several sessions before any tangible results appear. Many acute injuries will see results quickly, but other, more chronic conditions may take longer.

Insurance

  • Mainecare: Does not cover acupuncture or massage therapies.

  • Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers up to 12 acupuncture visits in 90 days for chronic low back pain, however, there are restrictions that make it very difficult for treatments performed by a licensed acupuncturist to be covered.

    • Medicare covers an additional 8 sessions if you show improvement. If your doctor decides your chronic low back pain isn’t improving or is getting worse, then Medicare won't cover your treatments. No more than 20 acupuncture treatments can be given yearly.

  • All other Insurance: We can provide you with a SUPERBILL at the end of each month that you can use to apply for reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Cancellation Policy

At Little Dragon Integrative Medicine, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and plans may need to be adjusted. We strive to accommodate our patients' needs while also ensuring the efficient functioning of our practice.

As a courtesy, an appointment reminder call, text and email are attempted 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment. However, it is the responsibility of the patient to arrive for their appointment on the scheduled date and time. If you do not receive a reminder call or message, the following policy will remain in effect.

  • First Missed Appointment:

    • The first missed appointment is on us. Life happens, and we want to provide flexibility for unexpected situations.

  • Late Cancellations/No-Shows:

    • A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is canceled less than 24 hours before the appointed time.

    • A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without canceling.

    • In either case, we will charge the patient a 50% missed appointment fee after the first late cancellation or missed appointment.

  • New Patients' First Appointments:

    • Any new patient who fails to show for their initial visit may not be rescheduled.

  • How to Cancel Your Appointment:

    • If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us at 207-531-5346 or email us at contact@littledragonmed.com.

    • If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our cancellation policy. These guidelines help us maintain the quality of service for all our patients. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for choosing Little Dragon Integrative Medicine for your healthcare needs!

Winter Weather Policy

Winter Weather Policy for Little Dragon Integrative Medicine

At Little Dragon Integrative Medicine, the safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. During the winter months, we have implemented the following weather policy to address potential disruptions caused by inclement weather:

1. Clinic Closure or Delayed Opening

  • If severe winter weather occurs, the clinic may close or delay opening to ensure everyone's safety.

  • Closure or delayed opening announcements will be communicated via email, text message, or phone call to all scheduled patients, as well as on our website and social media channels.

2. Appointment Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • If the clinic is closed, all scheduled appointments will be canceled. We will contact patients to reschedule at the earliest convenience.

  • Patients who feel unsafe traveling to the clinic due to weather conditions are encouraged to contact us to cancel or reschedule their appointment, even if the clinic remains open. We kindly request at least 2 hours' notice, if possible, for cancellations during inclement weather.

3. Telehealth Option

  • When appropriate, telehealth consultations may be offered as an alternative for patients unable to attend in person due to winter weather.

4. Student Safety

  • Students are encouraged to prioritize their safety when traveling to the clinic. If staffing is insufficient due to weather, we may need to adjust our operations or reschedule appointments.

5. Updates and Communication

  • Weather-related updates will be provided as soon as possible. We recommend patients check their email or our social media pages for the latest information before heading to the clinic.

6. Emergency Situations

  • In case of a medical emergency during clinic closure, patients are advised to contact their primary care provider, local urgent care center, or emergency services.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate the winter season together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
