John Alsobrooks

John graduated with a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences and Mandarin Chinese from the University of Maine before moving to Beijing, China, where he spent over a decade studying and practicing both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. John completed a five year medical degree at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a focus on Acupuncture, Massage and Moxibustion (in Chinese).

 

John has always loved sports and athletics, and values their importance in health and wellness. Prior to and while living in China, John trained and taught both traditional and modern martial arts. He became certified as a personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, and has since been certified as an Exercise is Medicine Specialist and a Pain Management Specialist.

 

John has also trained with a variety of meditation experts and has an extensive background in meditation practices, which includes Qi Gong (Daoyin) breathing exercises for health and vitality, a variety of Buddhist and Daoist practices and somatic meditation. He has several years’ experience teaching and guiding meditation practitioners of all levels.

 

 

John founded Little Dragon Integrative Medicine in order to fill a gap in the world of modern medical practices. John incorporates nutrition, exercise, bodywork, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicines, meditation and a variety of specialty therapies in his treatment protocols. He considers each patient individually in order to determine a series of specialized treatments that will encourage each individual's body and spirit to regulate and heal itself.
